Free, Standard, and Advanced

What Free, Standard, and Advanced include, and how to choose or switch between them.

Phoenix Incidents has three levels: Free, Standard, and Advanced. This article explains what each level includes and how to choose or switch between them.

Free is a separate app, with its own listing on the Atlassian Marketplace. Standard and Advanced are editions of the paid app, Phoenix Incidents, on its own Atlassian Marketplace listing. Moving up from Free to Standard or Advanced means installing the paid app, not changing a setting.

Free

Free is free forever. No credit card, and no trial clock.

Free includes:

  • Incidents as Jira issues. Declare, track, and resolve them in your existing Jira.

  • Slack and Microsoft Teams integration, so you can run incidents from chat.

  • Unlimited incidents and responders, with no seat counting or caps.

  • Response reminders and channel cleanup.

  • Severity levels with SLA targets for acknowledging, validating, and updating an incident.

  • An executive summary report showing MTTA, MTTR, uptime, and trends.

Standard

Standard includes everything in Free, plus:

  • Guided RCAs in Jira that open automatically with a Five Whys structure.

  • Enforced RCA completion. An incident can’t close until its RCA is finished.

  • Action-item tracking through to completion.

  • AI-drafted stakeholder updates from the incident timeline.

  • Recap summaries for people who join an incident late.

  • AI executive summaries and root-cause assistance.

  • A full report suite covering outcomes, causes, lifecycle, and action items.

  • Scheduled reporting, so reports and RCA reminders go out on a schedule.

  • Paging through PagerDuty, Splunk On-Call, or Opsgenie. Phoenix Alerts is not included.

Advanced

Advanced includes everything in Standard, plus Phoenix Alerts: our built-in paging system, with on-call schedules, escalation policies, and SMS, voice, and email notifications.

If your site is on Standard, the Phoenix Alerts pages and the admin Paging page (Jira Settings > Apps > Phoenix Incidents > Paging) show a message that Phoenix Alerts needs the Advanced edition, with a link to view editions on the Marketplace.

Choosing or changing your edition

You pick or change your edition on the Atlassian Marketplace listing for Phoenix Incidents, or in your site’s Atlassian billing admin.
